Karan Johar took to Instagram to share the first look teaser of Shakun Batra's upcoming film 'Gehraiyaan' on his Insta handle. The film stars actors Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa in lead roles.
Karan who is the co-producer of the film wrote, “It's time to dive deep and find out what's beneath just the surface. #GehraiyaanOnPrime world premiere on Jan 25.”

In the teaser, we get a glimpse of the complex relationships of the characters. While Deepika is paired opposite Siddhant, Dhairya plays Ananya’s love interest. Deepika and Ananya play sisters in the emotional drama. The film deals with the extramarital issues of marriage as Deepika falls for Ananya's partner. The teaser take us through the emotional journey of the couples.
Earlier, the stars took to Insta to share a few BTS pictures from the sets of the film. Deepika shared the pictures from the sets and wrote that she took the opportunity to be a part of something that I believe was truly magical.
Ananya Pandey expressed her gratitude in a post for being the part of the film as she shared similar pictures. Meanwhile, Siddhant, in his post wrote a few lyrics of the song 'Gehraiyaan' and gave us a glimpse from the sets.
Gehraiyaan will premiere on Amazon Prime India on January 25.
Gehraiyaan is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Shakun Batra, and written by Batra, Sumit Roy and Ayesha Devitre. The film is jointly produced by Dharma Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Jouska Films. The film stars Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday with Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor in supporting roles. The film will premiere on 25 January 2022 on Amazon Prime Video. After being known as Production No. 70 for two years, a teaser was released on 20 December 2021, revealing the title and release date of the film. The film will be available for streaming globally on January 25, 2022, through Amazon Prime Video.
The first schedule began in September 2020 and lasted approximately one month. The team returned to Mumbai, India in November 2020, where filming resumed for another month. Shooting for the next schedule commenced in Mumbai at the end of March, 2021. Filming was wrapped up in August, 2021.
With his third film, Siddhant Chaturvedi has made people go gaga over him, and deservedly so! The actor is gearing up for the release of Gehraiyaan, in which he plays the role of Zain. The film features Siddhant being torn between two leading ladies, Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday. However, going by trailer, the actor also shows some grey shades compared to his co-stars. OTTplay asked Siddhant if the thought of how people would receive his character after the release came across his mind.
The Gully Boy actor exclusively told us, "I would not try to talk intelligently about it and be like, 'No, I know my craft and I don't care about the audience.' No, I do care about the audience. I come from them and am a part of them. When I watch a film, I do have my favourites. When I read the script, I realized that everybody would have their favourites. Shakun never walked up with one definite answer. You choose your character. Which one is your favourite? It's like Avengers. I am not saying this film is like the Avengers. But you choose your favourite."

Even though the actress has been a part of love stories before, Deepika asserts Gehraiyaaan is in a different space. When asked if the audience’s choice have evolved and if filmmakers are ready to show a more realistic portrayal of relationships, Deepika said, “I think it is the audience that is giving us cues and telling us that we are ready for content that we haven’t seen before. I am certainly taking my cues from the audience. In fact, I feel they often shun the predictable and the obvious, and they are constantly searching for something new and different. I think that is where actors, directors and writers today are getting the confidence to go ahead with their ideas and being brave in making those decisions and choices.”
Gehraiyaan is a horror series starring Sanjeeda Sheikh and Vatsal Sheth, and directed by Sidhant Sachdev. It is a love story that unfolds between a 26-year-old researcher Reyna Malik, at a Mumbai hospital, and her surgeon beau Shekhar, amidst mysterious and dark occurrences in her house. Reyna has just moved to Mumbai after taking a short career break. She is very eager to get back to work – to surgery, her first love. But because of a trauma she endured before the break, the hospital is not sure if she is ready to take up new assignments.

This is Johar’s second collaboration with Amazon Prime Video after the superhit 2021 release Shershaah.
